A hepatic hamartoma is a benign tumor-like growth in the liver that arises from an abnormal mixture of tissues normally present in the liver. These lesions are rare in neonates and often discovered incidentally during imaging studies for other conditions. Despite their benign nature, they may mimic more serious hepatic lesions, necessitating differentiation from malignant liver tumors such as hepatoblastoma.
